marymacmusic is living third generation music education. What does a third generation commitment look like? Like generations before, it is visible in schools, faith communities, community centers, and places of retreat.
marymacmusic educates family caregivers, healthcare providers and administrators, spiritual care professionals and students at leading regional and national health centers on the use of music and movement during extended illness and at end-of-life.
marymacmusic’s spiritual music label, Ruah Musica, creates the music meditations offered weekly at rest-stop-ranch.com, a sanctuary and destination for family caregivers and their loved ones. The music meditations help to relax and center anyone in need of a break, especially parents of ill or disruptive children, caregivers of aging parents, adults who are ill and health care providers. The Ruah Musica label also educates spiritual care professionals on the use of music in the spiritual care visit as applied in acute and post-acute health care settings, at end-of life and in dementia care.
marymacmusic believes in and supports research as a foundation for improved quality of life each day of life. Our research measures program participant’s perceived and observed health benefits (mental, physical, social, emotional, spiritual).
Our commitment to school music education is lived through two annual awards given to high school music students and one small program grant given to an elementary school music & art program that serves elementary students who are less likely to experience professional musicianship and performing arts at an early age.
